BDC provided the structural engineering services in relation to this 133 unit residential building. The stepped building, formed in reinforced concrete, rises to 11 stories above ground level and is supported in part by strategically placed transfer beams at first floor level to facilitate the formation of an under-croft ground floor parking area.

This particular brownfield site formally contained a 1930’s cinema complex and more recently ground works had been commenced in relation to a subsequently abandoned residential scheme, the ability to construct new foundations then being significantly hampered by historic piled foundations albeit some were reused in the new scheme.
