St Marys island sector11

BDC provided the Structural Engineering services for the Sector 11 phase of the ST Mary’s Island redevelopment. The site in Chatham Kent, was a former nuclear submarine servicing base which had been decommissioned and remediated however contained a number of below ground obstructions.

The Sector 11 phase included 120 new dwellings comprising 44 houses and 76 apartments in 6 blocks, with 1 RC frame 7 storey block, 2 blocks encompassing podiums, 4 traditional constructed blocks which contained significant steel frames to form the vaulted penthouse units. All houses and apartments were supported on piled foundations.
