education

Worlds End school was built using the PFI model in Enfield.
The school accommodates 1500 pupils plus a sixth form including a further 200 students.

The building varies between 2 and 3 stories across the site to reflect the sloping topography of the land. The scheme necessitated a significant cut and fill exercise to create a plateau for the buildings and sports facilities.

The main buildings incorporated piled CFA foundations and a concrete frame up to eaves level where the construction reverted to a steel frame roof, including 2 large portal steel frames incorporated to the sports halls.
